On February 6, 2020, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said the following, from her seat in Congress:

“It’s a physical impossibility to lift yourself up by a bootstrap!! (T)he whole thing is a joke!!!”

Many Americans and freedom-oriented organizations dismiss “AOC” as a fluke, who will eventually reveal herself for the hate-driven, irrational charlatan she is, to the point where her constituents vote her out of office.

What many don’t know, however, is that she’s the biggest fundraiser among House Democrats, and is drawing huge numbers of young people into her web of socialist propaganda, lies and naked incitement.  In our schools, she’s hailed as a model public servant, with a bright future in federal positions.

Soon after AOC uttered this imbecilic lie, I bought the domain iBootstrapped.com.  I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with it, but having intimate knowledge of native-born and immigrant Americans who’d bootstrapped their way to success, often against severe obstacles, I knew I was in a capacity to design a thoughtful, evidence-driven, passionate response to AOC’s deranged lie.  T

iBootstrapped™ is a concept I’m developing for a proprietary TV/streaming video series, that will tell the stories of such individuals, and in doing so, will affirm the virtues of political and economic freedom, in a way that will resonate with the 53% of Millennials who believe America’s economic system “works against them.”

The graphic identity I created for the project took some time, as it had to be instantly-recognizable, but also convey the essentials of what bootstrapping actually means.  Eventually, I recalled Dolly Parton’s amazing song, “Coat of Many Colors,” describing her childhood of extreme poverty, and the rest fell into place quickly.
