Vanguard-EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services), a custom circuit board designer and manufacturer, wished to create a dynamic new logo.
The overall challenge in this project was to distinguish V-EMS and its services from those of its competitors, many of whom are relocating (or have relocated) their operations overseas.
My approach was to indicate a “win-win-win” concept, in which V-EMS, its customers and the end users all benefit from their interaction; hence, three equally-weighed lines pointed on an upward trajectory, with each becoming stronger – indicated by widening lines – after they “wrap around” each other.
Ultimately, Vanguard went with another design approach:
